Hi All,

I know you all were anticipating an update on life, where I’ve been, and why I haven’t been writing. That post will be made in due time. Today however I have a midweek motivation pick me up.

Many of you that have been following me know I have two little ones. My daughter who is four loves Disney movies. I grew up watching Disney so it’s great watching new and old movies with her. Last night, instead of us watching our usual two new favs Encanto and Turning Red. I put on a new movie my daughter hadn’t seen and that was The Princess Diaries. I hadn’t seen the movie in years so it was great rewatching it. It was a particular part that really stood out to adult me because it was such a powerful message if you understood it. That quote was a great reminder and eyeopener. Depending on your outlook and perspective the quote can be understood various ways. For me personally that quote was right on time because this past week I had been dealing with a situation where individuals actions were pushing me to react, say, and vibrate on such low frequencies. Hearing that quote while watching the movie was like a BOOM! Aha! moment for me because I was reminded DO NOT LET ANYONES WORDS OR ACTIONS AFFECT YOU! YOU ARE IN CONTROL OF YOUR LIFE AND YOUR THOUGHTS AND ACTIONS! Words and thoughts only have meaning when you attach emotion to it. Be unyielding to others unhappy thoughts and emotions. Do not give others the power to take your happiness, focus, vision, positive energy, or power PERIOD! Stand firm in who you are, your beliefs, and your power. NO ONE KNOWS YOU BETTER THAN YOU! Do not conform or consent to others views and opinions of who you are, what you are doing, and what you know and believe. Stand up for yourself always and let no one walk all over you. You are equipped with strength, courage, motivation, and are capable of more than you think and know. Find your strength and voice and stand on it!

Happy New Year!

Farewell 2019! Hello 2020!

I hope you all ended 2019 on a fantastic note and headed into 2020 ready to conqueror and make it prosperous.

Remember to be and do what makes you happy and don’t worry about what people think or say. Stay focus and achieve the greatness you want to see in your life.

I plan to hold myself accountable way more than I have been with blogging and pumping out consistent material for you all again. So stay tuned!

I’ve been MIA. I know! You all will find out why eventually. I’ve got a lot of great things coming up on the blog for you all. I’ve been brainstorming and creating and planning. So, I’m excited you all should be as well!

So, I want to introduce a new Monday post series. Typically, I’d do a #MondayMotivation post but I want to try something new! We are going to call the new Monday post series #MomLifeMonday. I’ll of course still do #MondayMotivation post as well from time to time. But I want to introduce #MomLifeMonday post because I’m a new first-time young mom with a lot of experiences and stories already that I’d love to share with new and future moms. So, like always I hope to inspire, motivate, and help!

So, for this first #MomLifeMonday blog post I want to share this Instagram post below with you all.

I seen this post the other week and I thought it was hilarious. If you follow me on Instagram you know that my daughter turned one on July 9^th. We celebrated on July 14^th you can check out the birthday vlog/video here. But yes, my princess is one. So that means I officially have a toddler. So this post was slightly relatable and understandable.

It feels like just yesterday I had a precious little baby that could barely do anything. Now she walks, talks, plays, and much more.  She also may just be one but she has a very unique and goofy personality and attitude similar to mines which is so amazingly hilariously scary.

The “baby stage” honestly goes by soooo fast. Literally like the blink of an eye. The ‘baby stage” was not at all as tough as people make it seem. But I’m sure that depends on the child. Ashton was great! She’d sleep through the night and she rarely ever cried as a baby (so funny cause now she does the spoiled brat whine like five times a day lol).

Along with the spoiled brat whine I mentioned. My little toddler loves to demand and boss everyone around. It is literally her way or the highway. She’s so smart and also tries to be very independent. So, I can definitely relate to the post. Each day with a toddler is definitely always interesting, different, and exciting.

I mean I have a ton of post ideas and content I want to put out but I want them to be a certain “perfect” way. I want my pictures to be crisp and high quality, I want all post at 250 words or more, etc etc etc. Some may say your pictures look bomb, your post are great, just keep putting out content.

I’ve officially had my blog for two years and it’s time to reach new levels, heights, and success. So I’ve been putting more and more pressure on myself and it has lead to hesitation on posting. But! No more writing and saving.

Now, lets get to the good stuff!

The other day and everyday after bath time as I am trying to get a diaper and pajamas and/or outfit on my very busy nine-month-old I came to realize just how determined and resilient kids really are.

My daughter has been crawling for about five months now and since then there hasn’t really been any stopping her. She tries to get into EVERYTHING! Literally…EVERYTHING!

So after bath time I lay her on my bed and I attempt to quickly dry her off and get a diaper on her before she tries to turn and crawl away. So after I get her diaper on I let her crawl away to be free to explore whatever she pleases while I get her clothes. Ashton is able to climb up and reach the shelf where I keep my jewelry and a few other items. So every time I let her free while on the bed she goes directly to the shelf to grab whatever it is she can. This particular day I had already straightened up my shelf and I attempted to try and stop her from messing it up again. But no matter how many times I sat her down or placed her farther away from the shelf she still crawled back to it in attempt to grab an item.

As a mom of an active baby I naturally stop her from getting into things constantly. But this particular day for some reason I stopped and realized something much bigger.

My nine-month-old was so resilient and determined to get an item off my shelf, that she didn’t care how many times I kept sitting her down and moving her back. Each time and I mean EACH TIME she continuously tried to go back to the shelf. So how is it that Ashton and tons of other young children know keep going, don’t give up, be determined, push through, be resilient…but so many older individuals in this day and age don’t. So many people give up on things that they’ve wanted daily (i.e. dreams and goals). According to the research by University of Scranton 92 percent of people don’t achieve their goals.

Remember…

Resilience– the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness

OR

An individual’s ability to successfully cope with adversity.

Determination– firmness of purpose; resoluteness

OR

The ability to continue trying to do something.

So take a lesson out of a babies book and be resilient and determined in whatever it is you want to pursue. Do not give up until you reach your goal. Be apart of the 8 percent of people who achieve each and every one of their goals.

My Answers To Micia

1.  If you could reside anywhere in the world, where would you live? If I could reside anywhere in the world I’d probably live in Dubai. Lately I’ve seen a lot of pictures and videos from people who’ve visited Dubai and I think it’s absolutely beautiful.
2. What is your favorite Novel and why? My favorite novel is probably The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald which was the best and only novel I can remember reading in school and Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks because I love a good romance story.
3. What is  your favorite thing to cook? My favorite thing to cook at the moment is probably spaghetti but I absolutely love to eat so I like to cook and try new things all the time.
4. What is your blogging process? I really don’t have a blogging process. Usually I come up with ideas and get inspiration at random times throughout my day and I just start writing my motivational and inspirational post like that. As far as fashion and beauty posts the shoots are planned after I go shopping for new clothes and products I think are good.
5. Have you interacted with any celebs on Twitter? Share! I’ve been on Twitter since 2009 and can’t remember interacting with a celeb aside from a few following me.
6. What are your 3 favorite movies? My three favorite movies would have to be any of the Fast and Furious movies, Taken 1,2,&3, and Batman Begins. That’s technically more than three but ugh..yeah!
7. What podcasts are you currently listening to? I don’t really listen to podcasts that often but I do really like The Nelly Shay.
   
8. What is your current fav TV show? My current favorite TV show…..I have a lot but I’ll say my newest favorite is Lethal Weapon.
9. Do pineapples go on pizza? Sugar or salt on grits?  No! No! No pineapples on pizza! And I got to have salt on my grits. I’ve actually never tried it with sugar though so idk if I’m missing out on something great.
10.  What is your favorite place to shop? My favorite place to shop probably would be WantMyLook, Fashion Nova, and Charlotte Russe.
11. What is your favorite season? My favorite season would probably be spring. Although I stay in Florida and it’s mainly always hot…in the spring we may have some hot days, some cold days, and some days where it feel just right.

Hey Beautiful People!

I know! I know! I know! Its been a while. But, I’m back on it and I have a post for you today. The other Sunday I visited my cousins church in Eatonville, FL (Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church). It was a wonderful service and I recommend attending if you’re ever in the Orlando area. While I was there a few of the youth did a presentation of a wonderful letter/poem by Martellus Bennett entitled Dear Black Boy. I know I’ve been MIA but I’m back! I hope each and every one of you had an amazing Christmas and your New Year is off to an awesome start.

Today is Monday so of course I have a Monday Motivation post for you. This Monday as you all may know is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. So I’ve decided to dedicate this blog post to him. Dr. King was an activist and leader in the American Civil Rights Movement; he also was a minister and humanitarian. Dr. King is an inspiration to many because he fought for what he believed in. As we all should.
